Paul Schiminger

Mr. Schiminger is the Executive Director of the International Bluegrass Music Association (“IBMA”) and is located in Nashville, TN. The IBMA is the non-profit music association that connects, educates, and empowers bluegrass professionals and enthusiasts, honoring tradition and encouraging innovation in the bluegrass community worldwide.

Prior to joining the IBMA, he was the Managing Director and Not-for-Profit Segment Leader for Wilmington Trust. In that role, he worked closely with endowments, foundations, associations, and other not-for-profit organizations to help them achieve their investment and philanthropic objectives while also presenting the Firm’s full array of investment, fiduciary, and custody capabilities to clients. Prior to joining Wilmington Trust, Mr. Schiminger was the head of sales and marketing for Alex Brown Investment Management and was previously the Director of Advisory Services for Deutsche Bank Alex Brown.

Aside from his financial services career, he has been involved in bluegrass music since he was a teenager, having played banjo in two regional bands over the years. Mr. Schiminger is a graduate of the Leadership Bluegrass class of 2015 and is a graduate of Leadership Music in 2018. He holds a B.B.A in Accounting from James Madison University and an M.S. in Finance from Johns Hopkins University. He is currently an ex-officio board member of the IBMA, IBMA Foundation, and the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum. He formerly served on the board of My Sister’s Circle, whose mission is to help disadvantaged girls in Baltimore City become thriving women through education and mentoring.
